Police are hunting a burglar who smashed the window of a boat on the River Hamble.
The suspect used a boat to access a power boat named Mrs Chip which was moored on the river at Sarisbury Green on a mid-stream pontoon opposite the Royal Southern Yacht Club in Hamble.
Police said the suspect attempted to gain entry into the boat by smashing a cabin window, but it is not clear whether or not entry was gained or if anything was stolen.
It happened overnight between 7pm on Saturday March 9 and 9am on Sunday March 10.
The 47-year-old male owner of the Mrs Chip, from Havant, has not yet reported to Hampshire Constabulary if anything was stolen during the incident.
Officers are unsure if the burglar was disturbed during the crime, but are investigating it.
It is believed this was an isolated incident, but boat owners are being advised to be aware and report any suspicious activity on the River Hamble.
Anyone with any information should PC Mark Arnold at Hedge End Safer Neighbourhood Team on 101.
